    1970s Cordial Set

    Circa: 1970 or 71
Glasses are about 4" tall and the opening is 1 5/8"

This is a great little vintage cordial set. The original owners bought this in Aspen Colorado in the early seventies. It's in very good shape with very little use.

The glasses have wood bottoms. The stand even has little wooden legs below. Glasses are a fantastic amber color. The stand holds the glasses enough to walk with the whole piece.

I have a lot of glassware for my bar, so not sure what I am going to do with it? It may end up as somebody's Christmas gift?

Really nice set. Very unusual. I've never seen anything like it. I wonder what kind of wood that is?

Yes..I was hoping someone could tell me.the obviously choice was Aspen, but it's very grainy. I think it could be olive wood?

One can never have too much barware...I'd find something else for the xmas gift and keep this set... ;-) :-)

Also very curious about what the wood it is crafted from really is. More typical choices might be mahogany, teak, or rosewo0d -- but it obviously isn't any of those with its spectacular graining...hopefully somebody will recognize it!

Looking anew at this makes me wanna rethink my former comment, such that it really could be "rosewood" with the dramatic graining to it...there are also more obscure 'fancy' hardwoods (often African or South American in origin) that can look similar and often get called rosewood by default, which were used to make such decorative things around that 70's timeframe at least...without any markings it might remain a mystery though a beautiful one anyways -- I'd still find something else for that potential x-mas gift...? ;-) ;-) <lol>

I gave it to my friend and she is enjoying it.
