This eye patch was recovered in Danbury NC in the dan river near the old iron refinery the furnace is the only remnants left after the war they set it ablaze it was built in 1859 in use to 1865 they were working wounded soldiers who could no longer fight many were mostly blind in one eye this patch is one used to go under the specs and this eye patch I infact recovered in the water hand digging for bottles by accident I have recovered this find it is the only civil war relic I ever found and it sits with my 1865 indian head penny found the eye patch 12 years ago in Danbury NC in the dan river

Cool.... I was imagining more of an round patch rather than an aviator shape. Pretty neat!
