This 3"L goldtone brooch shows a crested parrot with red, yellow & light green enamel body, small turquoise eye and rhinestone "seed" bucket. By Coro (1901-1979) from the 1940s, upward slant script mark has partial metal erosion
Bucket brooch...? I've never heard of that term before- to me it's a very bright tropical bird brooch! The colours are somewhat pastel too almost like an ice lolly or tropical drink(which is really fitting!) A really nice addition to your many brooches! :D
Oh, I really love this parrot!
I love these off the beaten path figurals by coro !~
No wear or damage, and that age. Amazing.
Can't be a real parrot, they are professional destroyers.
Sincere thanks everybody for the love

Thank you Lauren for your fabulous comment & wonderful imagery, how nice to picture these colors in a tropical drink or ice lolly, such a pretty idea and yes, these colors are quite tropical! I can even see them in a rainbow "shave ice" which is the Hawaiian version of a snow cone, those are large fantastic ice treats with syrup I loved them on my few trips to those gorgeous islands
Scott thank you so much for your super kind comment, really glad you loved this Coro parrot, that co made such pretty parrot designs and quite a number of them it would take years to find them all, lucky to have several nice ones
Thank you so much Phil for your lovely comment and also happy that you loved this rhinestone seed-eating fella, you are right it is quite an unusual and offbeat Coro parrot figural, you have to give them an A for their creativity esp being one of our earliest & most popular costumers
Lol Karen, yes from experience I must agree that bird pets are constantly shredding and destroying stuff, and I only owned small parakeets but I have seen what the big guys can do! Probably told this already, my sister-in-law's hubby went to kiss his pet cockatoo and it gave him a huge bite on the nose sending him to the ER for stitches, and that was on his son's wedding day can you imagine the wedding photo album :)!! Thank you for the great compliments & noticing the brooch is in remarkable shape for being around aged 80
Nice find Jenni..
Many thanks for the thoughtful love

Thanks yourneverright for the really nice comment, this was a lucky find for me you never know when you come upon a rare piece like this Coro parrot
Cute parrot!
Thanks MrsT & Mary for the wonderful comments, very nice of you & always warmly appreciated - glad you liked this parrot :)
Mary it certainly does look like it's sitting on an ice bucket - and rhinestones are often called ice, so there you go! Birds rule, we who have owned birds have loved their cute antics & chirping - or screeching at times lol
