WWI Trench Art Cross
Approximately 5" x 3 1/4"
This just arrived from France. After buying my 1st trench art pieces and seeing Scott's awesome collection, I decided that I wanted more.
I had a good idea of what I was looking at, but I asked Scott for his opinion, since he's been collecting this stuff for awhile.
The cross has some tabs on it. I believe that there was a christ figure attached at one time?
If you like this piece..keep your eyes open, because I have 2 more unique items coming from France and Ukraine.

I've got exactly this with the Christ figure attached. My wife bought it 15 years ago at a flea market. I'll post it up for comparison.
I appreciate it..although it's disappointing..hoped there wouldn't be any like it.
The crucifix was a popular motif in trench art. I see a lot of reproductions out there-- yours is old/ from the WW1 era.
