Can anyone point me to a reference giving more information on this Roycroft tag? I found it on a Little Journey's stand, but cannot find any information about it on the internet. Thanks.

      Hi, goldfish. :-)

I'm curious to know by what means you conducted an Internet search, because the Roycrofters are well-known:

      http://www.roycrofter.com/

      https://www.roycroftcampuscorporation.com/learn/history/

      *snip*

The name "Roycroft" was chosen after the printers, Samuel and Thomas Roycroft, who made books in London from about 1650–1690. And beyond this, the word roycroft had a special significance to Elbert Hubbard, meaning King's Craft. In guilds of early modern Europe, king's craftsmen were guild members who had achieved a high degree of skill and therefore made things for the King. The Roycroft insignia was borrowed from the monk Cassiodorus, a 13th-century bookbinder and illuminator.

goldfish, Perhaps I misunderstood. Is it specifically the metal tag on the stand?:

Elbert Hubbard didn't start Roycrofts ...These two guys did ....Harry Taber was a working printer. He edited the East Aurora Citizen and ran the local Pendennis Press, a subsidiary of Buffalo’s White & Wagoner printing company. Taber and Hubbard had been business acquaintances since the days of Larkin Soap. William Mackintosh was managing editor of Buffalo’s Evening News and Taber’s friend and colleague...I have a copy of the bill of sale which is at the east aurora library for 1,000,,, Harry Taber said up and till his dieing days Hubbard screwed him ....ya can't be leave the crap on line ...the king stuff was crap,. Hubbard made it up but the monks back in 13 th what ever used the orb first, stating to mean to my " best ability"after making a entry in a book or paper.. of coarse the roycroft campus will blow smoke up your hat to make you be leave Hubbard started it ...other wise no monet or grants ..ok I said to much right mr snipp it ....lol

      Dear All:
Thanks for all the information. I need to digest it a little, but all the leads will be helpful. I'm terribly sorry for not responding with thanks sooner, but I just discovered that all the email alerts were in spam! I have been in contact with the folks at roycroftcampuscorporation, but they could not help (yet) with the history.

      So thanks again!

Hi again. I had come across many of the websites you suggested. I am able to find a time frame that the cross and orb started being used (1906):
      https://www.realorrepro.com/article/The-Roycroft-mark

But I have still not been able to find the time frame that this tag was used:
