1992 Artist Proof Titled "Fat Cat Tulip Time"
5 5/8" x 6"
With the framing: 11 1/4" tall, and 11" wide.
ARTIST: Edie Miller.
I looked at this piece a hundred times before I bought it. It's way better in person. Nice mixed media piece. Has some embossing, print work, and some precision cut paper work and artistic edge work.
The artist has signed, titled and dated the artwork. The backside has all the artist's information. It also looks to be framed by her.
Note on back reads, “Born and lived most of her life on the West Coast. The Vancouver Island printmaker enjoys depicting the coastal scenery and working with nature in close-ups of flowers, birds and animals in her serigraphs and etchings (many of these prints include embossing). Her whimsical drypoints, often handcoloured, of birds animals and quiet local scenes shows her great understanding and love of these subjects.
She attended and graduated, with honours. the four year course, at the Vancouver School of Art. She worked as a comercial artist for 7 years.
She has had a number of one-man and group shows in Victoria, Duncan, Port Alberni, Ucluaiet and Vancouver.
Edie’s prints are carried in a number of galleries in Alberta and British Columbia.”
It’s delightful, with a very kawaii look to it.
This just makes me smile....
Thanks, made me smile too...that's why I bought it!
....just contemplating a romp thru the tulips, probably.....
More likely a nap, considering the size if those fat cats! Ha ha
