These are about 1/4-1/2 inch across and length. No clue what they are for. Are they pins? Assuming they are from late 1800s to mid 1900s.

Maybe for screwing into a cork board, I have some similar push pins like them, but the wings do not move,

Thanks Phil for replying. That is so interesting and not something I would have guessed as a possibility! The wings do not move, they are each in that pose. They do seem quite beautiful to be used for something like that, but maybe people wanted wanted fancy cork board pins in the past?

Antique collar pins and cuff links sometimes had such a spiral back but I think the tips were more rounded than sharp like yours are.
Yours may have been meant to attach to a ladies’ hat band or heavy coat collar since they have the sharp points. It’s an old method of attachment but the ornament looks more current....if they were mine, I’d happily attach them to my coat lapel and likely get lots of compliments. :^)
      Just my humble opinion....

I also agree that they would work on a cork board!

Thanks Watchsearcher--I'm feeling that collar or lapel pin could be it--I could just envision one of my relatives wearing this on their heavier coat. Great input from you both, thanks!

I think they are for women's hair - politely put - wigs and weaves I have seen them used as such. not an expert here.

Hi Richmond--wow, that's not something I would have guessed, but they could work for that! Thanks for the input!
