I found this hat in an antique shop 30 years ago and added it to my husbands hat collection. Now I'm curious to know if it's collectible? It's in pretty good condition. Inside the helmet there's a tag that says it's from Clifton, NJ and appears to be sold/made by Cairns & Brothers. Anyone know anything about it?
Anything fire fighting related is collectable.. this appears to be a 1930s helmet. Better pictures would help. But YOU must determine if it's real.
You have a direction to look ..compare to other helmets from reputable sources..not ebay! Figure out if the logo on there is/was a real station/crew. If you can narrow it down, then you have a better chance of finding an expert on this particular helmet..
