These plates I purchased at the Gettysburg Relic Auction of May 10, 2008.
First on the left is a Georgia Frame Buckle found on the Southern right flank at the Redding farm.
Then is a Union C- Box plate found near Willoughby Run on the scene of the First Days' Battle.
Lastly is a US belt plate found west of Willoughby Run, with some of the leather from the belt still attached.
At this auction there were many Civil War dealers there to bid, and I recognized many of them that I had seen
at shows. One was from mid-Tennessee, some hundreds of miles away. I had been a Civil War show dealer myself
from 1982 to 2019. I did more than 900 shows in my time, and I collected CW items also, and still do.
Nice collection..
You did well to win these!
