It looks to be a hound in front of an Irish round tower.

Symbols of Irish hope. Missing the harp.

“ Over much of the 19th Century a round tower, a ruined church, a recumbent wolf hound and a harpist were the instantly recognised symbols of both Ireland’s past and its rising hopes of recovering some of that faded ancient glory again in modern times. ”

PEIL is football ... Gaelic football and the name of a football magazine in the 1960's.

I'm guessing the fob is a memento of a winning season, or membership in a club. I suggest you use the google translate app to help to find out what it says.

I'm having a problem with another hallmark. The makers mark on two fobs is CU both with Birmingham (anchor) assay marks. Gone through all the normal channels so I wonder if anyone can help. Neil
