    I wondered if this is a real Katana ? The masters markings are on the blade but nothing on the tang ?

      I wonder what the markings show ...( who made it ?). And where it was made?
      Congcu what makes you think that the sword is Chinese ? Interesting !

      I said it looks like a Chinese piece. Can't be positive. I have one very similar that I bought on eBay shipped directly from China. Japanese Samurai swords have a long and well documented history of manufacture. A little research on your part will explain more. Perhaps you can find someone who reads Chinese. Check eBay as well.

      I contacted a Chinese friend to assist with the translation. Top line on right "united knife", bottom line "special steel". left side characters in the square are archaic characters, may be a traditional, historic , touch mark of a famous maker.
