I have had this for years, it was my Dad's. I'm not sure if it is Silver or plated. I would like to find out more about it.

Looks like a souvenir cigarette case.
Most date from around the middle of the 20th century.

Scott is right. The cigarette case is probably from after 1942 when a first piece of land was reclaimed from the water (can be seen on the map) and before 1957 when several other pieces of land were reclaimed (not yet shown on the map).
