Iwachu Arare cast iron nabeshiki (trivet)

This Iwachu Arare (hobnail) cast iron trivet, called a nabeshiki in Japan, is 5.5" in diameter and sits about .5" high. It bears the Iwachu mark, "JAPAN" stamp and Kotobuki paper inventory label. The Iwachu mark is not legible, though the casting of the trivet as a whole is sharp and defined. No idea why it is so bad.

The "JAPAN" stamp was done after the casting, so the trivet was probably not made for export but part of an order from existing stock for Kotobuki Trading Company. Kotobuki still sells this trivet and uses the same label on the example on their web site. This trivet, in my experience, is the most commonly seen trivet from Iwachu but the hardest to find at a good price used.
