    Bought this jar of what they say are porcelain marbles. I bought them because I thought that they were unique. Still got the as found dirt on them:)

      I found several of these while digging in my yard a few years ago. I think they were once pretty common.

      The fly in this ointment is that Atlanta did not exist until 1847 and there was nothing there before 1836.

      That being said, the town where I live was founded in 1822 and I live a few blocks from downtown. There were buildings around where I live not long after though my house was built in 1883.

      Thanks everyone for stopping by and looking and loving! I really appreciate all the information provided. I think the general consensus is that they are real marbles and that they are old. I had never seen any until yesterday and for $7.00 I thought why not. Appreciate you all very much,Ralph
