What better way to kick off the year than with a nice example of Welz?
This vase from the Tango era is made from cased glass - clear over pink stripes & spatter, with an opaline white interior.
It measures 19 cm tall, 12 cm across the loosely crimped top rim, & 8.1 cm across the base, which does not have a pontil mark.
There is an applied black crest on the top rim. The form is a simple, flared trumpet, classic & elegant. This is by no means a rare decor, but my first in this shape. Always impressed by how many variations there are on this theme.
I know there are quite a few folks out there that especially enjoy pink glass, so hope this one brightens your day.
Pink & black is one of my favourite colour schemes in glass, & it's always a pleasure to welcome another piece to my collection.
Oh wow, that's so beautiful!! Nice addition to your wonderful collection!
Many thanks, jscott0363!
Love it!!

This is one of my favourite Welz shapes. Flowing lines, no clutter and elegant in pink.
Likewise to you, Scott!
Thanks so much, Peggy...& as the resident doyenne of Welz, your fine taste is greatly appreciated!
