Nichols and Stone Rocker-or is it?

I aquired this rocker when I purchased my house. The house is an 1865 farmhouse, and the man I bought it from has lived here since 1986, when I moved in he left this chair behind. I was told it was a Nichols and Stone rocker but I have NO stamp OR sticker underneath. I'm hoping someone can date it based on the design. I believe it's a 1970s rocker but it's worthless if I can't prove it's a true Nichols and Stone. Please help!
