My wife photographed this supply store in rural West Virginia in 2017. I believe items were still being stored here despite the condition of the building.

This is such a classic old building!! I live in central Kentucky and I still see a lot of old General Stores around rural Kentucky that have been in business thru several generations.
I love it! It was probably THE place to shop in years past.
We had a similar store (but in much better shape - it actually had a coat of paint) near us....they sold really good BBQ sandwiches, hand-dipped ice cream cones, gasoline, minnows and fishing gear, every size nut and bolt imaginable and all kinds of hardware, beer, toys, etc, etc, etc.....I loved that place....it’s still there but has changed hands a few times and isn’t nearly as good now, sadly.
Very nice picture,! Pretty sure I’ve drank in bars that didn’t even look this good.
Love it!
I pass an old store like this every time I go to one of my favorite hiking spots. It, too, looks like it is about to fall down, but someone recently reopened it as an antique shop. There is also a small, old railroad station at that spot, the only other building there, which I hope gets rescued, too. It is in better shape than the store.
Thank you all for the comments. I would have liked to find out more about this building, but was not along on this trip.
When we would travel any distance, I would always prefer to return home via rural roads rather than highways and toll roads. The time spent is well worth it. You never know what you will discover. It's like a natural flea market.
