    This was my Grandparents' letter opener. I remember, as a kid, watching them use it, thought it was so beautiful and something very special. I'd never seen my parents use anything like it.

      You seem sure it is a letter opener and may have been used as one. The picture makes it look a bit long, can you provide a length?
