See there - how wonderful your collection of animals is, I love the critters.
I love the imbalance of the tails, makes it so much better!
These are the cutest little monkeys!!!!
Such an old cliche, but yet in these times all the more meaningful !~
These are perfectly quirky and charming but chaotic too!
These are great- I feel the first one is sitting on his tail hence it being missing( he's trying to keep from getting up to more mischief!)
I wonder have you seen the other version of this- where there's a fourth monkey and he's sitting on his hands with the saying 'do no evil' ?
The missing tail for some reason reminded me of that, but yeah, I think these are such funny little creatures whenever they crop up, I've just never seen them in brooch form which is really cool! XD
Thanks very much to all for the love

Thank you Lori for your super comment, I'm glad you enjoy my animals they are always my favorites to post in any form - gotta love the critters! Loving animals was sort of ingrained in me from childhood, my dad used to bring home strays, he got me a kitten from his boss's cat's babies, a pink eyed white rabbit from a farm, Siamese fighting fish etc etc. No surprise my early job wish was to be a vet though that never materialized
Thanks Karen for your fab comment & great observ about these monkeys' curlicue tails, they are quite the offbeat design! Having them above the heads definitely makes the piece jazzier & more attention getting, folks are always amused by this monkey trio
Thanks Scott for your wonderful comment & finding my "message monkeys" cute, they are definitely mischievous as are all monkeys, these three are certainly playful lil fellows
Phil thank you for your fantastic and thoughtful comment, yes in these days of political correctness we have to watch what we say & do, or as they used to say in the old days play D,D & D (deaf dumb & blind) to stay out of trouble. However being human we often balk at these rules right. The monkeys here have no problem expressing themselves quite cutely though!
Lauren I have not seen that fourth monkey version but I'm sure I would love it! I am born in the Chinese year of the monkey and very typically have monkey characteristics including curiosity, over-talkativeness (I'm sure you guessed that one lol), and becoming easily bored. My favorite charity is the monkey helpers in MA, they use capuchin monkeys to help the homebound disabled using their little fingers to open doors, dial the phone, pick up dropped things etc. I love all monkey items but they are pretty hard to find in vintage jewelry & glass, this brooch was a lucky find and yes it has a very amusing theme! It does look like monkey #1 is missing his tail, but if you look at the brooch back there is a nail in the middle of that monkey so that first curlicue (although it's over the second monkey's head) tail belongs to the first monkey, the other two are intertwined tails. Confusing I know, but these jewelry designers are always doing crazy things to be different and unexpected. Thank you for your awesome & keen comment as always
