I'll wholly admit I don't really know what I've got here, but I've got it anyway...HELP PLEASE from anybody that *does* know...?? :-)
I've gotta guess a ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE uniform, because that just seems the logical obvious thing. What exact variety of such, its vintage, what any of its badges or insignias really mean, or ANY of that -- I'm clueless about. (and also admit haven't had time to actually research myself)
A bright crimson red coat, with a pair of blue/yellow pants also on the hanger inside. The label inside the coat (not seen here in its own pic, we only get 4 per post) is now nearly impossible to read, but does seem to have a possible "1959" date on it. I didn't closely inspect the pants for these pics -- if anybody thinks I should do so I'll gladly look and add a 2nd showing as soon as I can. :-)
AnythingObscure great find.
You have a portion of a Royal Canadian Mounted Police dress uniform (a red serge and the breaches). You are missing the high brown boots, spurs, suspenders, Stetson hat, brown leather gloves and the belt and holster. This jacket belonged to a Corporal (rank insignia on right arm) The owner had between 15 and 20 years of service (stars on left arm are awarded for each five years of service). The two badges of guns on the left sleeve show they were marksman. The uniform has changed very little in a century and could be from 1959.
