Hello, looking for any information on “cat eye” necklace and bracelet that my grandfather purchased for my grandmother when he was stationed In the South Pacific during WWII. We think he bought it on New Hebrides Island which is now called Vanuatu...
It looks to be some kind of shell from looking closely at the back. You can see a spiral shape in it. Does anyone know any more about “Cat Eye” and the type of metal work this may be?

Well. I'm no expert but I would think the "Cat Eye" are actually a shell or some type of seed being it is from the south pacific. And it looks like silver as your metal. Very nice set - treasure it. The history you shared is wonderful. Welcome to CW. Lori

Thanks Lori! We love it especially as both of my grands have passed on. It is a neat piece of history and their story.

Thank you Melanie. Great information. I have passed on to my mom. She will be so delighted!
