      The sheath has nothing to do with this piece of cutlery. Looks to be early 1900's give or take a few years. Sheffield Museum might be able to be more accurate. As you didn't read the site rules, this isn't the place to ask values. That is why there is an appraisal link at the top of the page. Think twice about paying for an appraisal because you are apt to lose more than it is worth.

      You don't give dimensions, but it is probably and old kitchen butcher knife, if large enough. I have a similar one found under the kitchen floor of an old 1880s house my Dad was once rehabilitating as a rental property. I don't think my knife dates to the 1800s, though. As I recall, mine is bone handled, not wood.

      Appears to be an older meat carving knife which at some point had its broken handle replaced with wood.

      Sure looks like a skinning knife to me.
