Hi everyone. Today I found this pair of what appears to be early horns from an epergne. Done like Fentons' Emerald Crest line but various aspects of them make me believe they may be much older. They do not have the groove at the base of the stem for a set screw....they display a few specks of debris or maybe furnace brick dust. And the pinch/ruffle don't seem to be of Fenton's style. They measure 6 3/4 in long and 4 1/4 in wide. Any ideas? Thanks everyone.
In my opinion, most certainly Victorian & definitely not Fenton. The lack of a screw fitting is not an issue, as these were usually set into a metal mount with plaster of Paris.
Thank you IronLace..I thought of you and your collection when I found these. You have an amazing collection and I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. Would you be able to tell by the crimp style (or any other details) if it is American or not and maybe the approx. year(s)? Thanks again.
