A friend on FB told me that this is 'Tahei Mori...the missing piece is a spear. The original bronze is at Fukuoka City Museum. It is all related to The Three Great Spears of Japan.' Apparently, it's made of mixed metals - iron and bronze and from the Meiji period. It's quite large and weighs around 60 lbs. It is now a garden focalpoint at my nursery!
