Franklin Mint 1935 Mercedes Benz 770k Grosser (Emperor Hirohito’s car)

Here is a recent addition to the collection, a beautiful mint condition Mercedes. It happens to be the same year as the 500k which you may have seen in one of my earlier posts. This model has opening hood, doors, and steerable wheels. It also has an adjustable sun visor. This car comes with its original box and styrofoam, engine layout sheet, franklin mint vehicle pamphlet, letter, and care instruction sheet. The car also has its original tag. I did spend some time cleaning this car, and interestingly enough, franklin mint has some in depth instructions on how to clean the cars. They suggest using cotton swaps and a soft cloth to get rid of dust and smudges. They specifically mentioned to not use any form of cleaner or polish, contrary to what i have been doing. This car was dusty when i received it, and i was amazed with the effects the franklin mint cleaning instructions had on the finish. But in the end, it is debatable as to weather the polish i use actually causes damage. I don’t think that it does, but franklin mint obviously just wanted to be extra cautious.
