I found this pin with my grandfather's old military pins and medals. He was in the Navy in WWII and the Iowa National Guard afterwards. The motto across the bottom says "that they may fly". Does anyone know what regiment this crest is from?
I found the motto associated with the 224th Engineer Aviation Battalion.
The unit was constituted as part of the Air National guard in JUL 1954.
In NOV 54 it was allotted to the Iowa National Guard.

The "that we may fly" with the construction equipment (dozer?) supports it originally being an Engineer Aviation unit.
Searches for the unit in the 2000s shows the motto and crest changed, but similar: "that we may fight".

Thank you so much! That is exactly it. He would have been in service in or around '54, which makes this all the more interesting.
Just to clarify the crest from the 2000s is completely different, but the motto is similar with "Fight" replacing "Fly".
A photo of the back/ marks may help to narrow dating.
