double lion gate topper

This handsome pair of big cats staring each other down used to adorn a backyard chain link fence gate. Made of cast aluminum, hollow inside, and measuring a little over 16" long. They are actually quite detailed, and retain some of their original (?) red paint where it hasn't weathered off.

There are absolutely no markings of any kind on it anywhere, and I don't have the slightest actual idea how old it is, but it seems like such things were popular in the 1950's...???
