I bought these two paintings over 40 years ago. I believe they are from the golden age of dutch landscape painting, the 1600's.

They are painted on beveled mahoganey panels, and one of the paintings has a very faint signature in what looks like pencil on the back. There are no sigmatures on the paintings themselves.

Does anyone have any ideas as to who may have painted them? Thank you.

They are oil paintings, very old. I apologize for the photos, but unfortunately I do not have a HD camera to take better pictures. Both are painted on bevelled mahogany panels. I have researched the style, and they seem to be from the Dutch period of landscape art in the 1600's. There are two Dutch artists that appear to have this style of painting. Jan Van Goyen, and Albert Cuyp. When looking at their art, there are people wearing similar hats, and carrying walking sticks. Another artist that has this type of style is Jacob van Ruisdael. These paintings are very old, hopefully someone might be able to identify the artist. Thank you for your interest.

I bought these two paintings over 40 years ago. I believe they are from the golden age of dutch landscape painting, the 1600's.

They are painted on beveled mahogany panels, 8 x 6 inches and one of the paintings has a very faint signature in what looks like pencil on the back. There are no signatures on the paintings themselves.
The paintings are oil, and they both show river scenes. In one painting it shows someone walking along a river bank, and the other shows two people standing behind wooden boats, with a windmill in the background

Does anyone have any ideas as to who may have painted them? Thank you.
