Does anyone know what this symbol is?

Sterling silver ring. Marking inside is "Sterling" and there is also a "G". The G is not like a typeface G but more of a loopy G. This ring was bought in the early 1970s. I'm curious about the "G" but also most curious about what the symbol is. I'm assuming it is a Native American symbol but not 100% certain of that. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
