I purchased two of these about five years ago in an antique mall. I didn't know the Schon name, but at $15 each I thought it was a good buy.

What struck me then (and still does now) was the quality and beauty of the bracelets.

"The firm was located at 109 Saratoga Street, Baltimore and later at 11 Saratoga. Carol Scon Inc. imported stones and jewelry from Europe in the 1920's and specialized in custon made items by the 1940's. Especially popular were Carl Schon seahorse jewelry items, made by silver or gold plating actual seahorse bodies. Often sent by the customer, the seahorses were made into earrings, bracelts and necklaces. The firm also made rings, brooches and bracelets on order typefying the customer's name or special interest, fraternity, branch of the service, hobby or profession." - The Maryland Historical Society (Carl Schon Papers)

You're so lucky, what a great find! These are pricey.

      Thanks Esther and wolcott.

I didn't know anything about values when I purchased-- later research showed me they are pricey! $30 for the pair was a great bargain.

My youngest daughter (HS Freshman) likes wearing hers. She gets a lot of compliments at school when she wears it.

I have the same bracelet, ring and earrings. They were my grandmother's and a gift from my grandfather. Both lived in Sparrows Point, MD. I love my pieces and cherish them.

Just posted them in Fine jewelry under pins and brooches. I only recently learned of who Carl Schon was. I have had the pins for years.
