      Thanks for your question. I think it is hinged and that the sides with the teeth open up. I thought it might be some kind of shop tool or that it may have been made to work with leather? It's anyones guess. It was found in in an old farm house

      Yeah...looks like some sort of press or mold? Maybe the flat part sits in a vise or bench dog and something clamps in the top? Maybe weaving tool? Like for rattan possibly?
