Not sure of the age of these, still doing research. I picked these up today at an estate wholesale place. There was another one but it had a piece of damage. I did not know what it was till I got home. When I go back, I'll pick up the other one...paid $5!
Interesting subject and great details. Can you imagine drinking your coffee and going to work here? Looks pretty dangerous!
NO EH HAW, ALL STEAM
When I first glanced at the title I was looking for donkeys..no...steam donkey.
"Steam donkey, or donkey engine, is the name for a steam-powered winch widely used in past logging, mining, maritime, and other industrial applications."

SkyPilot - thanks for the comments. I have some big trees around my property. Several years ago one fell in a storm, took out another tree and about 30 feet of the chainlink between my property and the neighbors pasture. Man that was a lot of work. Had a friend cone in and cut all the branches and cut the trees up. I moved all the stuff back to my side. After I was done, the neighbor says, "you could've left the branches...goats would've ate them."...now you tell me!
