Older Bohemian dish decorated with a bird and flowers. Is it a dish or tray? Cranberry over white - peach-blow? Curled edges. Pontil is snapped / broken and I think it was designed to definitely sit in a metal holder because of the large bump on the bottom which makes it unbalanced if sitting without a holder. Maker? Nearly 20 cms long and 16 cms wide.

Pretty -I think it is a calling card tray from the Victorian era

I think you are correct, SuperVintageDelights - three curled edges would keep a card secure on the tray. The back edge could serve as a thumb grip as well. It does sit nicely on a table because of its colour and enameling. I surmise that it would have rested in a metal frame because of its bottom shape and rough, snapped pontil. Thanks for your interest.
