Compass: Trying to find maker and date.

This pocket compass was given to me by my Dad. I can’t remember where he said he’d gotten it, but he’d had it a long time. There are no marks other than the ones inside the lid. Closest thing I’ve found was a picture of a Short & Mason, which is identical except it’s silver and has the makers name inside the lid. I’d love to be able to know the date and maker...
