My first lock

This is my first lock, I got it for fairly cheap in a large antique’s place. I know this lock comes from somewhere in India and may be a reproduction, if it is, could anyone tell me the approximate age? I am confused about the brand, I have not been able to find much on «Hopps & co », it dosent seem to be a well-known company, so why the reproduction? I am very interested in learning the age of my lock, it is magnetic and has many engravings that I have somewhat cleared up with vinegar and baking powder. It does not have a key, it does not lock and the cover is rusted in place. The engravings say « Hopps&co », « 4 levers » and there are two that are illegible.
