This Victorian vase is made from a single layer of thick opalescent glass, shading from milky white to pale blue.
It measures 13.5 cm tall, around 8.5 cm across the top rim, & 5.5 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
The vase has an unusual folded over top rim, with a J.I.P style peak, & an applied amber crest.
There is applied decoration of a pink & white flower with an amber leaf trail.
I have another vase of similar form with the same folded over rim in pink, however it is damaged, but this one is in perfect condition.
I think probably of Bohemian origin, though it was sold as Stevens & Williams.
A lovely acquisition, IronLace! Keep up the good work.
Beautiful.
Incredibly beautiful!!!!!
Many thanks, Russel117!
Thanks so much, Lori!
Thanks also, Scott!
There's not enough happening here! Where's some rigaree, some prunts, an insect or a handle!!
You know I'm kidding but those Victorians loved pretty stuff on their glass!
LOL Karen, & yes, they liked it extra fancy...just like me!
