This has been one of my favorites for roughly 30 yrs now, since a friend (then) let me "borrow" it to wear for an evening out. That friend eventually drifted away, but the bracelet remains one of my favorites... ;-) :-) :-)
It is made of a braided black leather cord with both its ends secured into half of its metal T-shaped 'clasp', the other part of that consisting of a little metal keeper bar that slides down the cords to form a loop to hook the T-bar into. Its 'decoration piece' is a sorta two-part twisted rope designed metal bead thing (? for lack of better term) that wraps 2-1/2 times around the middle of the cords.
I do not and never really have had a real idea of what kind of metal it is made of -- it is *not* silver, as it never polishes to a greater sheen than how it appears here. Perhaps pewter or some other variety of dullish silver colored metal, or some peculiar alloy of something, or ??? It has no markings whatsoever except for the squarish U design on the T-bar, and that itself might be just a little more decoration detail than makers mark.
