This 2 1-4" tiger mom & cub brooch has a glazed brown and gold enamel striped body with green rhinestone eyes, on goldtone. The 3-4" cub is a trembler holding the SJ logo which is also seen on brooch back, for St John, founded by clothier Marie St John in 1962. This brooch ca 1990s

Very cute- it looks like a glazed porcelain actually, love the way mama tiger is sitting- sorta protecting her cub behind her and daring you to try and reach it, all while baby is playfully clambering up her back!

Thanks Lauren for your wonderful praise & yes, the front of this brooch could pass for glazed porcelain (there are some brooches that actually are made of ceramic, but the metal setting is the giveaway here) I love the semi-real tones of a Bengal tiger & mom is certainly big enough! The cub has alot of mom to play on :)

Scott thank you for your fab compliments, this is one in a series of mom & baby animal brooches by St John, luckily I found a few they were very popular. Love those bright green eyes as well, it's so nice when they show them in pairs rather than the small lone eye
Thank you Phil for your awesome praise I am delighted you liked this wild animal brooch, I know I tend to go overboard with certain animals in my collection but I really do love the big cats - have only seen them fenced in at zoos, but when their golden eyes look at you they're mesmerizing
Karen thanks for your super comment, yes isn't that cub trembler cute, it's actually on a low spring that doesn't show in the pix, but what I like is it's pretty stationary and not bouncy so you get slight refined movement. I know, it's amazing when jewelry designers can bring out the beauty of an animal while leaving out any vicious qualities, and of course being jewelry you never have to be afraid of them lol
