These could have been useful here in the last day or two <groan!> but thankfully I have a much better one (heavy duty, brass edged) one to actually use on my own windshield on those very few (thankfully!) occasions when I need to do that.

These two both made of molded plastic, the yellow one from "COURTESY FORD 5850 S. BDWY" and the red one from "AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOOD SERVICES", which according to its shape also has the lettering "YOU ARE #1 WITH US" molded into its handle.

Chances are good that these have spent more of their years undisturbed in a glove box or desk since they're still with us now -- I can speak from experience that such little 'giveaway trinkets' don't tend to last very long at all if actually called on to do their presumed duty...especially if they're also frozen cold (from inside the car) that plastic gets even more brittle...then <SNAP> and you end up using half a cassette tape box to scrape off enough for the defroster to catch up....

Thanks for reminding me of one of my laughs ! When I lived in Jamaica, I had just picked up some stuff at a hardware store in Mo (Montego) Bay and the clerk handed me an ice scrapped and I asked him what I was supposed to do "with that"? He said it came with an order and he was told to give one to each customer by his boss. Asked him if he knew what it was and he had no idea. It even had the name of the Mo Bay hardware store on it ! I tried to explain what it was for but laughing too much to finish the story !!

ROFLMAO bb2 -- a great story indeed!! The natives here probably wouldn't recognize these either, nor the couple of actual snow shovels I own too, not to mention the two little baby electric snow machines...I might to should retrieve one of those little machines from storage tomorrow, since by Monday morning they all seem convinced that I might be able to use it...?? [that damned groundhog and his shadow...<grrr>]
