This late '40s-early '50s
Bell System Telephone Sign is two-sided and supported by a flange.
The classic Bell logo has been simplified, letting the bell visual speak for itself.
Years later, the design has been through many changes. And the bell symbol remains with us in use to this day.
Maybe ttomtucker could help in more accurately dating this sign!

referred to as the 39 bell sign. used from 1939 to about 1964. The bell system used a more modern looking logo in 1969
