A recent thrift store find, I think this dates from the 1940s. The design is reminiscent of a sterling Coro heart with love birds from the mid 1940s. These birds have tiny red eyes. The back seems to have a partial sterling stamping. I haven't tested it, but think it probably is. Tiny marcasites, and 1 and 3/4 inches tall.
    Best,
    Maureen

Hi Mary, I'm the artist. A few years ago at an illustration workshop, ( I used to illustrate children's books) we had to do a mash-up of a favorite artist ( Kandinsky, for me), a favorite object ( for me an old sterling brooch) and an old photograph of ourselves. The original photo was taken by my college roommate ( also an art student) for a photography assignment. Thanks for the love and comment. Happy Valentines Day, too. Maureen

Hi Mary, have you tried google arts and culture? You can search by museum, artist, or medium. Some museums have exhibitions up virtually. There's lots to see there.

Hi Cisum, and the other collectors! I have not acknowledged your love this sweet old brooch. I haven't been around much, but was thrilled to see it bounce up again.
