This clock is heavy about 40-45 lbs. heavy it is 12" in height, 14" in length, and 6 inches in depth (it is an optical illusion it appears taller than it is long, its not). It has a brass scrollwork finial with gilded bronze wrapped columns and also a gilded bronze frieze over the bezel all reminiscent of the bas relief sculpture gracing Roman or Greek buildings . The clock face resembles a cathedral rose window with a blue enamel background, and black numerals, the fret work on it is also gilded bronze. This clock was not cheap, it has a Marti movement in it that was filthy, I cleaned and very very lightly oiled the pivots and let it run outside the case for about a week. The case is in almost perfect shape, there is some crazing of the alabaster on the back side over the arch above the movement access.

I looked at the clock on eBay and decided it was too expensive for me to buy, a day or two later I received a message from the vendor offering it a half price. I bought it. I usually do not clean the metal work on old clocks like this but I may make an exception to this one. I just need to know what type of polish to use on the gilded areas.

A real beauty! I love the gilded relief on the columns and above the clock.

That's a heavy lump for sure, but beautiful too.
Post must have been a big cost too but it's great you were able to add it to your collection for an affordable price.
Great bas relief, really like the classical style.
