1964 Oregon Motorcycle Licence Plate
7" x 3 1/2"
I picked this up today. What a cool find! Has a very low 3 digit number on it. The owners family had a ranch in Oregon before moving to Washington State.
I added a picture next to a modern Oregon and Washington motorcycle licence plates for comparison.
**UPDATE** I reached out to an expert on these Oregon license plates. He says that in 1964 he's confirmed numbers as high as 28445. And the lowest number he has seen on any 1956-68 plate is 142.
No one can confirm if plates that year started at 101 or went into double or single digits? He said in the 1950s they went down to single digits.
He also said due to the influx of Japanese motorcycles, license plate numbers jumped in the 1960s. Oregon motorcycle registrations hit 10000
in 1962, 20000 in 1963, 30000 in 1965, and 40000 in 1966.
Do you realize how much cooler things used to be? This plate is simplistic yet stylish!
I had to fight ever urge in my body to not break out the Mothers aluminum polish and give it a mirror finish!
**UPDATED info**
Amazing!
