I picked this piece up today. Found the date 1913. I can’t wait to strip the paint off to see what it looks like underneath. But I have no name or marks other than the numbers. The drawers have the number 25 scrawled on them with pencil. And the back of the piece has the number 25 engraved in the back of the body and top piece. Then N238 stamped on the back of the dresser and 228 stamped on the back of the beveled mirror. If anyone has an idea or a lead I’d gladly like to know. I’ll add more photos as we start the restoration.
I’m so glad you are planning to get that paint off! Please post a ‘before and after’ picture when you are finished.
I see two layers of paint. The top one being the black. But the other is an avocado green with cream. Lol. I certainly will post the afters. Even if it turns out to be an ugly duckling.
