BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit
California regional prints?
Thanks. But im curious what the purpose of these prints were for.
I thought they looked like conceptual drawings, like for a building project? I don't know the area, maybe they are just artist made?
Like the cat taking a walk of the roof in the first one. It is professional work by a graphic artist. If you haven't already done so, take one out of the frame and see if there is any writing on the print. There might be something under the mat, copyright info, etc. They could be decorative, advertising art, prints from book, etc. They could be proofs for a commercial printing run. Hard to say. You might also want to look at them with a jewelers loupe to see if you can see dots from the printing process. If not, then they may be lithographs. We don't have much to work with except for some not great images. The one labeled "Premier Panel" suggests it is commercial art that has been framed, but what the purpose of the art was is not clear.
Hi. Thanks for the info. I got a magnifying eye piece and looked at it up close. No dots. Also saw what looked like faint pencil lead markings. I can reverse connect-the-dots confidently enough to believe these came from the foster-kleiser offices, or whomever owned it at the time. Looks like that company switched hands a lot in the 80's. Thanks for chiming in!
