Hello everyone!
You've seen many of my cast iron Boston Terrier doorstops, but here's an antique cast iron toy, or novelty, Boston Terrier from my collection. I call this one a toy as the paperweight version of this is only about 3" tall. I believe the original color of this fellow was 2-tone brown/white, but it appears to have been near heat which could have resulted in the paint to have this affect. Though the paint on this one is not the prettiest, I wouldn't dream of disturbing it as it's 100% original. It has very tight seams and is held together with a single bolt. It's small and measures approximately 5 1/2" long and 5 1/4" tall. I believe this one was made by Hubley and described in one of their catalogs as a novelty item.
Thanks for stopping in to have a look!!

Thank you Eileen!!
You know, I noticed that the surface on the back of this one is worn shiny. Makes me think that it was loved dearly by someone and played with quite a bit. I wish these could all talk and tell me their stories. Wouldn't that be awesome?
