I saw this one on Kijiji about 200 miles from me and I met the owner 1/2 way . This was in December of 2020.
It is a Deforest Crosley model 7D931. Called ''The Gaspe'',or ''the Laurentian''.
I have recapped the radio and it play very good. I will get to the cabinet this spring.
This radio in particular is rare, because of the style of the cabinet and the 10 preset stations.
It also does have the original knobs and grill cloth.
I really like the cabinet style and the large tuning knob. it will take a bit of work but when I get done it will be a very nice looking radio
Superb cabinet, doesn't get better than this one for that art deco look !~
wow,... nice one...
Beautiful radio. I have just started to exolore these and discovered the Deforest Crosley radio and that the cabinets for these and perhaps others may have been made in my hometown.
Other than Kijiji and hibid.com, are there any good sources to find any such radios that might be available?
Thanks,
Richard
Richard; I have ad add on kijiji asking for antique radios. I also go to a lot of estate sales and garage sales, and after 15 years I do get people calling me asking if I want their old radio.
I have posted this radio [here on collectors weekly] after I redid the cabinet,so you can see it after I restored it. Good luck in finding a neat radio
