This small cast iron kyusu is 4.25" diameter x 2.5" high and weighs 1 lb 5 ounces. An aluminum infuser survived with it. It has a maker's mark that I am not familiar with. I do not know what flowers and plants are depicted on the pot. Still researching this one.

For some reason it is difficult to get an image of the bottom that does not make it look like a disaster but it is smooth and even.

It is well used and not seriously abused, but has been very neglected and has rust outside and inside. It also has a bit of a white mineral deposit inside. The only thing that I have done to it, so far, is to go over it with a stiff nylon bristle brush to remove loose rust and crud and wipe it with a dry cloth. I am sure that with a few applications of green tea, it will clean up very nicely and the rust will be gone.

It is very well made for such a small kyusu and a design I have not seen before. It is finely molded and the maker's mark is very clear even if my image is not. It was very inexpensive, under $25 shipped. The seller's images were not too good which likely made it easy for me to buy. I will add new images when I get it cleaned up.

Another most excellent kyusu! I never knew anything about these until I saw your wonderful collection. Now, when I'm out treasure hunting, I keep an eye out for these. I've yet to come across any yet.

Thanks Jenni! It was a pretty complex mold for this one.

Thank you jscott0363! I have never found one in the wild, myself. Only on line. You best chance is probably if you live on the the West coast if you are in North America.

Thanks for taking a look at my latest tea pot fortapache, jscott0363, Hoot60, dav2no1, Watchsearcher, Kevin, Jenni and aura!

Thanks for your comment Eileen! I, too, am constantly amazed at the diversity I am finding as I do research and look at new images. I am pretty sure that all of my kyusu are post-WWII. My oldest is probably from the late 1940s. I used this one today and gave it a good wipe down with green tea afterwards and it already looks much, much better. I think it will be one of my favorites!

Thanks for checking out my latest addition to my kyusu family Eileen and PhilDMorris!
