1949 Figures And Dog In Front Of The Sun
16 1/2" x 24 1/2"
ARTIST: Joan Miro' (1893 - 1983)
CIRCA: 1949
At first glance this is a confusing piece of art. So much so that the previous owner hung it upside-down. I can tell by where the hangers were attached. This is a print of the original art work.
**There is so much going on here, that it's easier to let an expert explain it. I will provide a link in the comments for you to explore. And even then, it's still open for interpretation**
JOAN MIRO' (1893 - 1983)
Born in Barcelona, Joan Miró i Ferrà was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist.
"Earning international acclaim, his work has been interpreted as Surrealism but with a personal style, sometimes also veering into Fauvism and Expressionism."
"In numerous interviews dating from the 1930s onwards, Miró expressed contempt for conventional painting methods as a way of supporting bourgeois society, and declared an "assassination of painting" in favour of upsetting the visual elements of established painting."
**This is an expert explanation of the art work - you decide! **
