Collectabl…
(310 items)
Since the increase of the silver price I have started to look at Masonic Jewels. These beautiful well made items have sparked my interest. Not only are they solid silver they are usually enamelled and quite heavy. I also find that the certain mystique surrounding 'Masons' adds to the interest.
This particular jewel caught my interest because of the two hammers. It was once gilded but has sadly worn off. Not sure of the lodge it came from, but made by FC Parry Ltd of Birmingham . The date letter seems odd looks like a backward c or a broken D, help would be appreciated.
Cost of this beauty was under scrap price, the brass pin is missing and maybe there was silk ribbon.
Photo 3 & 4 shows another jewel with the ribbon present. I am really not sure how to clean the silk ribbon ? in situe, un pick, clean and re-stitch or leave completely alone, again help would be appreciated.
I hope to post some more of these beautiful items, buying them below scrap and enjoying their history.
Appreciate the loves thank you;
